This website and the articles within it come from my experiences learning on my own and with Friends and Family.

Visiting here, I realize you want to learn more on how to be prepared in times of need for yourself, your friends and your family. Alot of things here are for Prepping and my new favorite term Suburban Homesteading.

I am not what you typically think of when you hear the term "prepper". I try to be practical and not over the top (My wife may not agree with that statement...LOL!). I learned many things in life from my mother and father, as well as from being an Eagle Scout and a former Auxiliary National Ski Patroller.  My parents taught me to be self sufficient  and prepare for emergencies. Anything additional I needed to learn I got from books and websites; probably just like you are doing. 

My goal is to help you be prepared for the possibilities of the future because being prepared in a storm event, a power outage, and other possible long term events not only helps you, but your family and community. Besides, doing some of the things you will see here, are just plain fun for you and your family.

Also, I would like those that read this to think of it not just as a prepper's blog but as a lifestyle blog. A lifestyle that is practical and prepares you the best you can within your means for things life throws at you unexpectedly.  Whether or not it's power outages, natural disasters, winter storms, or civil unrest; I want to help you get prepared. I also want, you my readers, to become more self sufficient.
